I remember a time I didn't wear socks. I liked seeing my feet peeking out of open toe heels or gladiator sandals. 👀 I hardly ever wore closed shoes. I was comfortable with that.
One day, a good friend asked me why I didn't wear them. She said, "Kan kaki aurat? Malu lah." She said it with such gentleness and sincerity I could feel it in my heart. I knew she really cared for my aakhirah. I knew she loved me enough to give me a nudge, even though it may make me (or her) feel uncomfortable.
Now I understand she meant "Malu lah dengan Allah".
It was since that day that I tried to wear socks to cover my feet for Allah. It was since that day, I felt ashamed for not practicing what I know.
It was the beginning of fighting and crawling of my comfort zone to find a way to dress for my Lord. It was a longgg process for me. It still is.
I believe we all struggle don't we?
Don't give up. We all start somewhere and inshaallah, we will get there with determination, consistency, faith and lots of Doa.
Today I pray for the Love of Allah.
I pray for the Love of those who love Allah.
I pray for the love to do good deeds that it brings us closer to Allah's love.
What's your struggle?
Let Allah's love embrace you and pull you through.
Love,
Syariati
